Mill Reef Club
The Mill Reef Club’s nine hole golf course is beautifully situated on the eastern coastline of Antigua in the West Indies. The course was built more than 60 years ago by the club’s founder who admirably reserved a significant portion of beachfront property for golf instead of real estate development. Though it has a solid routing, the course was built in a relatively rudimentary style and over time some functional issues with the greens and bunkers have emerged.
The club engaged McCartin Golf Design in 2015 to undertake an incremental reconstruction of the golf course. Over the last two off seasons four green complexes have been redesigned and rebuilt. Future work will continue to address the remaining greens and potentially include revisions to the course’s bunkering so that it matches the natural and adventurous aesthetic of the club.
